Fundraiser Required

(Part-Time / on a fixed contract basis, with potential for full-time)

Vacancy Release Date: 03 May 2017

Start Date: Mid-June (earliest) or latest 1st July 2017.

Our organization provides services to a growing number of NPOs whose religious and development work is largely in the Christian milieu. We are based in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal.

Competencies & Qualifications:

- Have 3 – 5 years of fundraising and related administration experience.

- Preferably a degree or diploma in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications or similar.

- Have a minimum education level of Grade 12 with 5 years’ experience.

- Have basic knowledge of Microsoft 2010 package (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)

- The ability to touch type 40 words per minute, is advantageous.

- Know the technical and administrative requirements for registering NPOs and PBOs.

- Be capable of motivational verbal and written skills, with a good command of the English language. A working knowledge of isiZulu, Xhosa and Sesotho is highly advantageous.

- Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation administrative systems.

- The financial admin systems of NPOs, inclusive of budgeting.

- Knowledge of governance related principles and codes applicable to NPOs.

- A code EM (08) driver’s licence.

Key Responsibility Areas:

- Meet with organization leaders to determine and document their requirements and provide feedback.

- Check and write-up constitutions.

- Complete applications for the registration of NPOs and PBO and the administration thereof.

- Write NPO profiles, proposals, letters and completing brochures and flyers.

- Put in place adequate Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting systems in NPOs and oversee adherence thereto.

- Prepare data (narrative, statistical, pictorial) to go on NPO websites and social platforms.

- Inform and practically set up monitoring and evaluation administrative systems and the completion of statutory reports.

- Inform, analyse and draft of expenditure budgets.

- Provide practical administrative support to the process of drawing-up of Annual Financials.

- Keep and apply up-to-date source information regarding governance principles and practises for NPOs.

- Adhere and propose improvements on the administrative system / workflow process.
